Long Overdue for my May 2014 Ipsy Glam Bag Review!

Oops I'm long overdue for my Ipsy Glam Bag review! This glam bag is the one I received in Mid May. I put it off even though I had all my pictures ready to go, go figure. I did receive a lot of good stuff and so it's better late than never.

BTW I just got my Ipsy email saying my next bag is actually on its way, it's in town right now so I better hop to it!

I previously mentioned that my April Ipsy bag was actually what I labeled as an oopsie bag. I received one repeat product, which Ipsy gave me a heads up via email that they made a mistake and gave me the option to let them pick out a deluxe product sample for May or receive 500 Ipsy points. Seeing that I just got over 1,000 pts I decided to go with their choice. So this bag contains their choice product, "oopsie" choice, in addition to my routine 5 products, PLUS I cashed in my points and picked out a full sized Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick.

Check out my Fresh Picks bag w/my extras:

Here's what I got:
5 products in a cute canvas makeup bag.

1. Pacifica Mineral Eye Shadow Duo. Celestial & Opal.
This duo has actually been my go-to eye look lately. It's easy and build-able and looks great with a winged eye.

2.derma e Microdermabrasion Scrub.
This one is OK. It's like any other Micro Scrub, wasn't really blown away by it but that could be because the previous bag to this had Dr.Brandt micro scrub and that was insanely awesome.
Also I think the heat it traveled in made it separate a bit but it's still perfectly fine. It's 100% vegan, and GMO free, so I would keep using it.

3. Hang Ten Classic Sport SPF50.
This reminds me of the early 90s. I feel like I might have tried it back then too. It's your average SPF but it is paraben free and does have a lightweight feel to it, I wore it under my makeup and it didn't feel heavy at all. Who doesn't need an extra travel size SPF in their purse anyway?

 4.Pur~lisse. pur~moist hydra-balance moisturizer.
infused with Pur~Moist's exclusive peptide complex, Lotus Lupine 5, Vitamin E and a proprietary blend of French marine plants. The moisturizer has a scent to it, it's good though! I use it at night and love it so far. The full size products is $55, so it's kinda fancy stuff.

5. hey honey, take it off.
What a saucy little peel off mask. I've only used this once since having it and that's due to the fact that you have to leave it on for 20 mins! And you have to moisturize before putting it on and then peel the whole darn thing off. Ain't nobody got time for that. Smells good and felt pretty refreshing afterwards though!

My "Oopsie" Ipsy replacement product: EVA.NYC Mane Tamer Leave in Cream.

This leave in cream contains argan oil and doesn't weigh my hair down. I've been using it every other morning since I got it. Not sure if it makes a big difference but I like it.

And my 1,000 Ipsy point choice:

bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie in Light It Up.

The Lipstick is smooth and creamy and pretty vibrant. It's a coral, but yet very red-orange tone. It definitely moisturizes and I recommend a lip liner while wearing this one. The Packaging is kind of awkward at first, every time I opened my purse my lip case would be separated from the lipstick and that's because I wasn't closing it properly, you have to make sure that metal button you see in the photo clicks shut to secure it. Other than that, a fab lipstick!

Alright on to the next one!

  1. Love this bag - so worth the $10 and the lipstick is one of the best bonus items! I agree with you about the Derma e products, it's just okay. The bag is super cute this month. Can't wait to see your June bag, with blinders on of course ;-)
