#NOTD: "Blood as Thick as Gold"

I recently went to a local Indie Nail Polish party.  A few independent nail polish creators had their vending booths set up at Ecomonster's "All Eye's on Indie" event at Black Cat Collective in San Jose, Ca.

Polished by KPT was at the party and I was so excited to finally try out a "Thermal" polish for the first time. I've been swooning over all the swatches posted on @PolishedbyKPT Instagram for awhile now. BTW all the polishes are handmade, hand poured, 3-FREE (no toluene, no formaldehyde, dibutyl phthalate) and cruelty free! Impressed much?

At the event there was a wide array of polishes to choose from, thermals, glitters, holographic, even DIY polish ring kits. Also the Fall 2013 collection, which has sooo many goodies it was hard to choose.

I went with "Blood as Thick as Gold"

I love this Red/Burgundy/Nude shade.
The best part? The gold flakes of glitter inside.
The funny thing about being a newbie at thermals is after I put on one layer of polish the red shade would fade away into nude before my second coat! LOL, so it was hard to keep track of what I was doing. I THINK I ended up with 2, maybe 3 coats of polish and a topcoat. I added some studs for an added punch of awesomeness :D

I thought I would show you my swatch through the day. The color was literally changing colors as I was taking photos! So fun. Also very distracting! I find myself looking at my nails randomly to see what color it is.

The many stages of thermal.

Totally nude w/gold.

At it's most red.

Notice the pinky is the darkest, I think that was the 3 coated one! Hah!

I love this color and I can't wait to try more next time.

Have your tried thermal polish?
What is your favorite Indie polish?
