Baked Sweets & Fashion Inspirations

I recently posted The Fashion Palate Menu under the "Baked Sweets" tab which listed a few scrumptiously stylish cupcakes and cookies that I recently sold at a local event.
Here is a closer look at the goods
and how fashion influenced my creations.

First up, "Cupcake Couture"

My S'mores cupcake is one of my "tried and true."
The flavor is insanely good. Dare I say, better than your ordinary s'more?
Made with a graham cracker crust and layered with chocolate, it gets better. Dark Chocolate cupcake batter is topped off with marshmallow cream, meringue style, which is then toasted with a blow torch. Every time I make this it kind of makes me want to go glamping—that's glamorous camping for anyone who doesn't watch unhealthy amount of Housewives.

Drink it up—the Mimosa cupcake.
This cupcake screams Sunday morning fashion show brunch at the Four Seasons.
This drink also makes me think of Gossip Girl
and how much the upper east side van der Woodsen's love their brunches!
I took an ordinary orange cupcake made with an orange juice batter that included homemade orange citrus oil and zest, then I frosted that with champagne infused buttercream. Decorated with pearls to mimic the bubbles and topped it all off with a homemade candied orange peel and voila!
One part orange juice, one part champagne, a true Mimosa.

One of my all time baking obsessions is with red velvet, it was even the very first cupcake flavor I made in my Kitchen Aide stand mixer. I also have an obsession for red shoes, as most women do.  Who hasn't lusted over a certain red soled shoe? So it was clear to me that I had to create a crowd-pleasing red velvet. And so the Red Sole Velvet sashayed its way down the baking runway.
A classic red velvet cupcake frosted with cream cheese buttercream
and a handmade red fondant shoe tops each one.

Now, introducing the"House of French Macaron"

Lavender with vanilla buttercream
S'mores, a cinnamon macaron filled with a layer of ganache and toasted marshmallow cream
Pistachio filled with chocolate ganache

French Macarons are such a big trend right now, and even in the fashion world patisseries such as Laduree collaborate with fashion designers on sweets. With all the endless flavor combinations to try how could you resist these delectably stylish French cookies? Just say Oui!

I hope you all enjoyed my continuous fashion explorations
through the art of baking.
Can't wait to share more of my tasty creations with you.
