OOTD: Primarily Blue & Red

This OOTD I named "Primarily Blue & Red."
Just a little play on the primary colors I chose to use in my outfit.
Oh poor yellow, you rarely fit into my wardrobe.

Brrr, it's still cold outside! Notice the Ipad photography indoors? I ended up layering a gray cardigan over my colorful ensemble. Just trying to keep things neutralized since my fire engine red pants drew attention like a siren. BTW I got these J.Crew Matchstick pants in-store for an extra 50% off the sale price,
a red hot $29.99.

Silly me though, I probably should've grabbed a jacket on the way out- it rained later that day, ooops!
I guess I was hoping this bay area chill would chill out already.

Check out my Chambray polka dot top I got for $20 at Nordstrom Rack.

 Outfit of the Day:
Polka dot chambray: Nordstrom Rack
Cardigan: F21
Matchstick Jeans: J.Crew
Denim ballet flats: Soda
ToyWatch
Vintage necklace & cat pin

An outfit isn't complete without a hint of cat. ;)

Nordstrom Rack Bargains

Did a little browsing and shopping at one of my favorite stores, Nordstrom Rack
I came across some great designer finds in the beauty department and clothing racks.
Check them out and grab them as fast as you can!

First up: Beauty Finds

Such a beauty steal for this price! It includes NARS top selling blush "Orgasm" with bronzer which retails at $41. That alone is worth the deal, but on top of that you get all these other goodies!

Next up in the beauty bargains, my all time fave nail polish brand butterLONDON
One bottle retails for $15, with this limited edition set you get three for $14.97!
Of course I got this.
The Lippys were also 3 for under $15! Super cute and sparkly.

Next up: Designer Finds

This vest was just totally cool.
Great for layering in the winter and over a strapless dress in the summer.

This is one of those dresses that I wasn't sure I'd like on the rack but gave it a try and I really liked the print!
$44.97 isn't bad either!

This Tahari top is so chic. I had to give it a try.

Great markdown on a Robert Rodriguez piece, you might remember his dress for Target that started it's run at $99. So $73.75 is excellent for the real deal and it's all covered in sequins.
*Note: I did not try this on, I have an unspoken rule right now:
"Do not try on dresses over $50 that I could potentially fall in love with." ;)
But everyone else should totally buy it. It's on sale!

What do you think of my finds?

My OOTD consists of many sequins and stripes!
Totally in love with my new top.
I went shopping last weekend and found this top for $19.99 at J.Crew
(Was Originally $128...Who pays full price anymore?)
And you heard right, the sale is now 50% off in-store only (online it's only 40% off)

Outfit of the Day:
J.Crew Top
Hudson Jeans
Christian Siriano for Payless booties
F21 bow necklace
Jason Wu for Target Milu Tote

Favorite Things at Toss Designs

Toss Designs is one of my favorite stores to spend a lot of time
staring at all the cute and sassy things and such!

How funny are these? Cocktail napkins that say what we really feel.
It's all about "glam-ping" not camping.
And the change purses are just a bad influence. Having one of these is like bringing a friend shopping with you, you know the one that always tells you to buy EVERYTHING! ;)

And then I saw this!

A French Macaron trinket box.
I've been looking for this since forever. They ALWAYS sell out online. So I was soooo ecstatic when I bought the last one at my Toss location.

I use it to put my wedding rings in. It stays firmly shut. And will be great to use when I travel.

Happy Thursday!

Big Spender or I'm Saving for Shoes: Checkerboard Print

Louis Vuitton started this statement making trend with the Spring collection featuring an abundance of checkerboard print.

You may have took notice when Jessica Alba wore it for the Golden Globes After Party.

It's quite the striking look and not for the faint of heart. Here's how you can get it on a budget. Since not everyone can afford a hot off the runway Louis Vuitton!

Also try the orange lip trend on a budget, and look-a-like accessories on sale.

Target + Kate Young

Prabal Gurung hasn't even hit the shelves yet and already there's another collab announced. This time a limited edition collection by Celebrity Stylist Kate Young.  She has assisted for Anna Wintour and styled the first cover of Teen Vogue. She styles for Michelle Williams and Natalie Portman and also for major campaigns like Jason Wu for Target.

“With this collection, I wanted to design standout pieces that allow women to experiment with fashion and create their own red carpet moments.” Kate Young

So far they have only released the sketches and I'm intrigued.

These looks appear young, pretty and everything a girl could want. I mean a bow gown? Awesome. Cute detailed shift dresses, a peter pan lady like frock and polka dots paired with tuxedo jacket, chic!

And the price points are not bad, starting at $14.99 and up to $89.99, you can get everything from jewelry handbags and shoes to apparel, focusing on semi formal and special occasion looks.

Kate Young will hit Target racks on April 14.

Are these sketches getting you excited for another Target Collaboration?

Thyme for a mani!

I feel like all nail polish should be mini size, seems like the perfect amount to experiment with. Also I'm running out of space to put them!

This was my manicure for this week.  A shade of grayish green , and I had to add a top coat of my 18k gold flecked polish of course. Even though the color wasn't as crazy as my usual picks, I still got a lot of compliments.

I'm thinking about trying out a "syrup-jelly sandwich" manicure next week, like this one:

Golden Globes 2013: Best Dressed & Best Moments

OK I had all night to think about it.

Here's my favorite looks I consider best dressed:

Agree or disagree?

Zosia: I love this dress! Leather panels, cute cap sleeves. Simple and perfect.
Jennifer: This was AMAZING. Love the red and the shine! Hot.
K Hud: The details, like wow! Couldn't stop staring at her.
Anne: White peplum-ish and sparkly! And it's Chanel.
Amy: Sexy! A tuxedo suit minus the shirt, accentuated with a Chopard diamond drop necklace.
I want to wear this.

Another look at K Hud:

And Kudos to the Hosts Amy Phoeler and Tina Fey, they looked super cute together and stole the show. From their drinking games and costume shenanigans, their jokes were rolling in.

"The Hunger Games was one of the biggest films of the year, and also what I call the six weeks it took me to get into this dress." Tina Fey

"Ang Lee has been nominated for the Life of Pi,' which is what I’m gonna call the six weeks after I take this dress off!" Amy Phoeler

Their Golden Globes Ad was so cute I had to imitate the look for my own GG "Red Carpet"
erhmm Brown Couch style.
Wearing: Asos dress, Converse, Marc Jacobs + Target clutch,  LG remote ;)

Another Best Moment was Ferrell & Wiig describing movies that they never watched. #GetOutOfHere!

Some of the best moments have no words:

Amy has snagged herself a new man...

Tommy Lee Jones looks like Grumpy Cat:

And the best reaction of the night...
No no T Swift the surprised look here will not suffice.

Taylor Swift stank face after hearing Adele won the Golden Globe.

Golden Globes 2013: Best Mani goes to...

I love the attention to details that these starlets have towards their ENTIRE outfit.
From the dress to the manicure these ladies won my heart.

Seriously how cute are these mani's?

And the Golden Globe of Mani's goes to...
Zooey Deschanel

For creative, quirk and whimsy. Balances well with Oscar de la Renta, don't you think?

Some of these ladies also made my favorite red carpet looks!

Pick of The Palate: Prabal Gurung + Target

I think I'm obsessed.
Loving the look book for Prabal Gurung at Target.
I can't wait for the launch in stores February 10th!

It was unbelievably difficult for me to pick my favorites for my palate. I literally want everything.

Here's what I narrowed it down to, even though I left some things off here, which I'm sure once I see it in person or try it on I'll know what I want
Hence, my shopping strategy day of,  grab everything. :)

The top row left, I'm digging the floral crush print blazer and floral tee.
The sleeveless collared blouse is also on my must have list.

Also, I kind of just want all the shoes... the Nolita mutli color flats are fer sure, and I'm thinking the black strappys? Or red? Or Dresden Blue?
Ugh the indecisiveness.
*UPDATE: Most of the shoes in this collection are Target.com exclusives, so plan on checking out Target's website look book : Prabal Gurung for Target
This way you can plan accordingly to shop in store or online depending on the shoes you want.

The "crystal teardrop" icicle necklace is extravagant, I want.
How it looks in person will be the deciding factor,
since the picture might make it look better than it is.

And the dresses, I can't decide. The bow black and white is Parisian and obvious choice for me since I love bows.  I'm worried about the how the top might fit, since you can't wear a bra with it.  Yet another one that will be decided after I try it on.

The floral crush dress is pretty fab and my favorite piece.

And I love the blue & coral hue on the Calypso color block dress.

"The whole collection was based on the idea of love and just the idea of celebration." Prabal Gurung on his Target Collection.

I'm celebrating the fact that I love his entire collection.
How about you?
