All I want for Christmas is OPI

Who else loves Christmas themed nail polishes?
Well I couldn't wait to paint my nails with this verry merry red lacquer for weeks now.

Nails of the day by Mariah Carey x OPI

All I want for Christmas is OPI
A deep, poinsettia red.
I used two coats and it does get darker the more coats you add.

These are all three nail treatments I used.

Mariah Carey x OPI "My Favorite Ornament" & "All I want for Christmas is OPI."
Followed by a polymer top coat by Julep. The top coat dries in less than 5 minutes w/no smudges, I was able to wash the dishes without hesitation 20 mins later! It also has a gel like shine.
I got the topcoat using my Sephora VIB 100pts at checkout.

I also swatched "My Favorite Ornament" on it's own w/out a top coat.
Its UBER shiny and sparkly and has truly the texture of what a glitter dipped ornament would feel like! Although, I recommend putting a topcoat because it's a bit irritating when you feel it, just an odd sensation. Also the topcoat keeps it from chipping, otherwise this chipped in a day.

It's really a stunning shade of red and the glitter glistens like no other.
My favorite holiday mani!

Merry Christmas Everyone!
I'll be back to posting after the holidays, I have a lot of moving to do (moving into my first home!). I'll be back.
 I promise.

TFP Cupcakes & Sweets: Cupcookies!

Cookie Happiness.

Cookie Madness.

I was playing around in the kitchen a few weekends ago to find that perfect holiday cupcake.
I've been wanting to bake a cookies & cream cupcake for awhile now, but with all the peppermint cookie options at Trader Joes I had not other choice. ;)

The Peppermint Cookies & Cream CupCookie was born.

Peppermint cake with peppermint cookies & cream frosting. I dashed a bit of crumbled candy cane sprinkles and topped it off with a half of a Trader Joes cookie.

But wait. There's more. Flip that baby over and you will see it has a cookie bottom.
Cookie/Cupcake sandwich.
I merely amplified the normal cookie and created a delicious cake monster.

You can see the layers here. The bottom of the cupcake is where I placed the cookie half, the side with the cream filling of course.

I'm loving this refreshing cupcake.
It's sweet with a lot of textures and a soothing peppermint finish.
Reminds me of my go-to Starbucks drink right now, the iced peppermint white mocha.

What's your favorite holiday treat?

Gift Shopping: For the Trendy/Budget Friendly F21

Last minute shopping?
It happens to the best of us!

My best advice? Hit up Forever21 for the most budget friendly gifts for the almost the whole family.
Everything I took photos of are way below $20. Most at about $3!

This is actually well paired. Chic and edgy faux leather gloves w/a bow ($12.80) & a baroque style necklace.

Just another glamorous necklace under $13 sure to please any fashionista.

 Cha-ching!
Jackpot, a designer (Rebecca Minkoff anyone?) look-a-like wallet for hella cheap. $3.80
and you can fill it up with other cute goodies too, for a quick stocking stuffer.

I need mascara,
I need lipstick,
making my list and checking it twice.
These mirror compacts design are also available on makeup bags.

Another fabulously priced designer look-a-like gift.
Looks a lot like a Kate Spade watch & Brad Goreski's infamous specs.

Puurrrfect nail polish sets.
There were at latest 4 different themes I noticed at my store.
On the back of the box are instructions on how to achieve the prettiest kitty nails.

Lacquer name brand inspired polish sets, much like Ciate's polish sets.
All you need to do is polish and add beads.

All the neutrals you need to create a glam leopard print nail. Instructions on the back.

Get your bestie a gift to look ultra fab come NYE! Gold and lush eyelashes, count me in.

My two favorite things.
Cats & Chocolate.
'Nuff said.

Nom Nom Nom.

Last but not least the perfect chic cat mug. Gift it with a fabulous set of makeup brushes, fill it with nail polish or candy the options are limitless.

Mani Monday: Julep $1 BF Score!

One of my favorite scores on Black Friday/Cyber weekend sale was this nail polish by Julep.
With two colors to choose from for only $1 total shipped (you could only purchase one) I went with this stunning blue shade called Kai. It's usually a $14 nail polish, you can buy it here: http://www.julep.com/kai.html

I love that the polishes come with a handy little swatch area on top of the lid.
It was screaming to swatch it, so I obliged.

The color is a beautiful bright sea blue. It matches spot on to the color of the bottle.
In this photo you can see the sea salt texture. It's a nice touch and doesn't scratch of feel bothersome at all.

It's so bright!
The polish is also good for you & the environment (4Free).
P.s. It claims to be "chip resistant" I find this true, it lasted (w/no top coat) for about 6 days!

I got a little playful and added some crazy rings I scored at H&M. How fun is that gold nail ring?!

Overall, a great purchase and it appears I will have a very moisturizing winter!

I'll be revisiting a few of these items to review them for you. I know I'm intrigued as to how the ELF blush/bronzer compares to Nars.  Are there any in particular that you want me to review?

Make Up For Ever, Ever?

Over the weekend, Make Up For Ever in Westfield Valley Fair mall had an awesome beauty brunch.
I was invited by Tobey (@tornadita) the Head Make Up Artist at this location. She holds weekly classes, and they are only $25 and you really do learn a ton! Getting a 20% discount on products after is just a tiny perk compared to all that you will learn from the masters of makeup.

This was event with treats & champs.

Attention to detail with the Make Up For Ever personalized water labels. How cute!

And two beauty lessons!

This was my very first makeup class like EVER.
And trust me, I needed this session. Two lessons of which I've been struggling with.

The lessons, how to create a fuller symmetrical and long lasting lip and a winged eye. Although mine appeared more cat eye, since I'm such a scaredy cat to make a really dramatic wing! LOL.

We got a really useful step by step manual on how to create the perfect lip. We take face serious.
You will have to attend a class to see the full manual though! ;)
But I will share a few steps that are vital!

Step 1 is important. This Lip Line Perfector pencil is used to draw an outline around your lips.
It will keep your lipstick from going all over the place. That's my best explanation. Hah!

Tobey is demonstrating Step 3. Start from the cupids bow, the top curve part of your lip, then head over to the corners, pulling the line UP! Drawing up the lip will make your pout look fuller.

The whole class decided that using the Moulin Rouge Red lip was the way to go!

Gotta have a great brush to apply that lipstick, it will give you more control.

Tobey is dabbing HD Concealer around the lip just to further enhance the lip.

 All about the winged eye!

Tobey is now using the Bent Eye Liner 260 brush to create that wing affect on Nancy Lee (@fashionchicsta).
We also used Aqua Black Cream Eye Shadow for the eyeliner.

Taking breaks in between drawing the line to clean off the brush.

Hello Gorgeous indeed!

Here we all are modeling the final look.
I must say my red lip lasted ALL day...well until dinner. Even after that I still had enough color left on my lip. The same goes for the eyeliner. Usually I get those horrible smudge lines above my eyelid crease or the winged portion disappears. Not this time.

Have you ever taken a beauty class? What's the best lip or eye trick of the trade you have?
Please do share in the comments!
xo-Franci

P.s. I attempted the look on my own, again.
I'm addicted.
After I purchase the bent eyeliner brush I'll try the dramatic wing I PROMISE.

Mani Monday: Butter London Double Take Ice Duo

I picked up this Ice Duo lacquer set by Butter London at the previous Holiday Nordstrom Beauty Trend Show. I've been wanting a deep navy blue color for awhile and getting a brilliant new overcoat with it was the icing on the cake.

The Ice Duo set is from the Double Take collection, these two polishes can be worn on their own or together creating a crazy galactic manicure.

Two coats of Bluecoat & Leccy. It glistens & glows.
It's very festive and perfect for winter.
So very Ice Princess.

Two Coats of Bluecoat on its own. An opaque shimmering navy.
This is my new favorite shade from this brand

2 coats of Leccy Overcoat. Sheer blue opal flecks.
Leccy is British slang for electricity. My pictures don't do it justice. I was having a hard time capturing how electric it looks with the sunlight. The overcoat has little flecks that glow, almost holographic.

Coincidentally Butter London has begun their 8 Days of Cheer starting today! There will be special offers each of these days. Today's deal is a Six piece Holiday Illusionists Collection including three Overcoats that will transform your nail polish shades. I actually have one of the holiday overcoats called Stratford Honey, I'll be trying it out soon too.

What did you think of the Ice Duo manicure?
It's $24, you can shop it here: Ice Duo
Even better, it's on sale at Ulta Beauty right now for $19. Ice Duo
