Hi-Hat Cucpakes Recipe: Trial & error never tasted so good.
I tested out a new recipe recently. I found it on the Martha Stewart website, its called Hi Hat Cupcakes. Leave to Martha to make this baking task incredibly difficult! Hah!
Anyways it came out tasty but the meringue was a bit difficult. Didn't quite get the height I was looking for but it sure looked and tasted yummy.
And this is how little miss perfect Martha does it:
As you can see, I got really close! :D
Chocolate dipped cupcakes, speaks for itself really. Just think of those chocolate dipped ice cream cones we knew and loved as kids. Just minus the ice cream for meringue and replace the cone with dark chocolate cake. YUM.

butter LONDON: Like butter.
Very much obssessed with my butter LONDON nail polishes. Anyone who owns one, knows why. Let me just tell you...the colors are insanely gorgeous.
On a recent shopping trip I picked up my two new fave colors. A dense liquid metal and a mouth-watering orange hue!

butterLONDON: Lillibet's Jubilee & Jaffa
So excited to try the limited edition Lillibet's Jubilee, I'll test it out next week. I have seen it on in person and it's kind of amazing. Since I'm a bridesmaid on Saturday and with one of the wedding colors being orange I'm going with Jaffa first.
Jaffa & West End Wonderland (aka best damn gold glitter polish)
Couldn't just leave it plain orange ya know. A little sparkle goes a long way.

Fashion meets Taste: Sweet Rose
Here at The Fashion Palate, obviously fashion and taste go hand in hand. Clearly the next thing to do was to post an outfit inspired by something tasty & pretty! I scored this lovely blouse at Kiss*tique a trendy clothing boutique in downtown Los Gatos, happens to be located right next to a French bakery....(my weakness/strength!) called Amour Patisserie. Freaking most gorgeous desserts in this patisserie!
So I think I was on some floral craze this week because I picked up this flowy floral top & then picked up this raspberry rose cake.
Fashion meets Taste!
What do you think? Pretty & Sweet or what?
Until next week, what will be my next fashion palate pairing?

100% Pure Facial Cleansing Brush
I've been looking for a cleansing brush, a good one, one that isn't going to set me back one hundred bucks. I've been interested in the Calrisonic for awhile now, but ran into a brush at 100% Pure. The brush looked and felt super soft to the touch and had a nice easy to hold wooden handle. And it was only $9 so I thought I might as well give it a shot, beats using my hands or a washcloth and I wanted to see what the difference was.
I've been using the brush for a week now, I pour a little bit of my face wash into the bristles and then scrub lightly in circle motions from one end to the other side of my face for about a minute. I actually noticed less breakouts and my skin complexion looks a bit healthier!
I'm impressed and can put off shelling out the hundos for the other face brush now! Phew! I'm thinking about trying the face cleanser sets too.

Cheese by the Sea
Anyone living around the bay area knows it got pretty darn hot this past weekend!
I spent mine doing some shopping, cheese shopping that is. Me and my hubby needed to beat the heat so we managed to come up with a few excuses to drive out to Carmel, spend a day at the beach while sipping on wine & cheese.
For obvious reasons, our most favorite shop in the Carmel Plaza is The Cheese Shop. I say obvious, because we are quite obsessed with FREE samplings of cheeses of all ages from around the world.
Let's just say we felt like kings & queens on the top of the sandy cliff, watching our loyal subjects prance around on the beach.
Anyways, if you ever get a chance to visit Carmel, this is a one stop shop to please the palate. They have a great selection of wine and if you forget you picnic stash, no worries, they have cups, cheese knives and wine bottle openers & corks all available. Not gonna lie, it wasn't all about the cheese. I did some fashion browsing as well, I spotted a pair of Jeffrey Campbell must have shoes at one of the boutiques on the walk to the beach. I'll be back.
What did you do this weekend to escape the hot weather?
What's the best cheesey dish you ever ate?

Our picks: Nord Hollander, Gruyere, Aged Gouda, Mustard Seed Gouda
Not to mention flatbread crackers and Chipotle enhanced Mexican Chocolate. Nomnomnom.
