Styles ablaze with a blazer!

I get easily excited about the abundance of stylish outfit options of blazers. It's a great piece to add to your wardrobe and can really make an outfit. Especially in a bold bright color, it can take your outfit from blah to hoorah and still look casual or dressed up. Always adding that extra boldness to your personae.

I wore my fuchsia blazer today. I also own a few black and navy blazers but given the bow tie blouse, I don't want to overdo the whole waiter look (since I actually work in retail), so I though I'd punch it up with some pink, ya know, make them think twice before handing me any dirty dishes.

I'm keeping it classy with a bow tie. I picked up the blouse from the epic Jason Wu for Target collection. The blazer is from Forever 21. Watch: Toy Watch.

Working at a clothing boutique can really test your shopping willpower. But I love a good deal, and this silk-like emerald green blazer for half off its original price was a no brainer. I purchased it from San Francisco Shirt Co.The gold buttons are great accents. I think I will pair this with a gold brocade mini dress.

I should probably stop buying jackets now, but the weather is so finicky in the bay area this year, I'm sure I will get my money's worth.

What color blazer would you rock?

Fab Five Friday: Sweet Dresses and a Treat!

Good morning Fashion Palateers! I hope everyone is enjoying their Friday so far. It's a warm and sunny day in the bay area and I can't wait to go outside and do some Crossroads buying and trading and pick up an ice cold mocha on my day off. Mmm!

I've been working the early shifts this week at a local boutique (San Francisco Shirt Company). So I had some extra time to throw some looks together. Here are some of my favorites:

Navy & Gold, It just makes sense to me. I thought the lace on the dress was a good tie in to the velvet belt on the pleated skirt. I would totally wear this.

I took a beige tulle and cotton dress and jazzed it up with a fun ombre bow scarf (it has a heart print!). I love to wear my scarfs in the bow style.

This dress form faces my direction at the register, so I need something sparkly to look at. So I added this silk sapphire dress and put this lovely wool sequin coat on top.

I love this, it's very bohemian elegant! Wear it with work pants and heels or a maxi skirt and wedges.

And helloooo giant cupcake! In the midst of work, I still make time to bake something yummy :)

Gilt Groupe SF Warehouse Sale

For those of you who don't know Gilt Groupe had it's Gilt City Warehouse sale event at SF Fort Mason Fleet this last Saturday afternoon. Gilt Groupe is known for it's high scale brands at sale prices for us online shoppers. This rare in person shopping event was for those online shopping lovers, and the prices were even slashed a lot lower than their normal sale prices. Fun, fun, fun.

If I learned anything today, it's if you want to get the good stuff come early! Tickets were sold out for the early bird slot (10am-12pm) so I had to settle for the 12pm-2pm shopping time. By then most things were picked over. :/ whomp whomp.

Buuuut I saw some cute things like this Valentino Red sweater dress. It's alpaca and has a cute lace inset. The black patent pumps are Kelsi Dagger.

I did score these fantastic baubles!

I got all three since they were selling for 10 bucks a pop. Can't beat that, especially at this quality. The gold cuffs are very heavy and solid. My favorite is the emeralds. Big fan of emeralds. The white tiger is pretty sick too, it's by Cara Jewelry, and the hammered gold and rhinestone cuff is very art deco which I love. These I would guess retail for at least 50-100 bucks.

I'm very happy for my husband though because he really came out the winner, he picked up a pair of Italian oxford wingtip pebbled leather shoes. Beauts!

Check out the Gilt Groupe shopping experience online until the next one pops up in the bay again.
