Menswear Fashion: Dude Looks Like a Lady

Menswear was seen all over runways recently. It's a really fun way to play with your work clothes. Giving your men's inspired clothing items a few touches of femininity and class and your ready to take on the world. Move over boys!

Here's a few of my favorite looks on the runway:

Donna Karen fall/winter 2012

Blazer and top hat feminized with a pencil skirt.

Michael Kors fall/winter 2012

Sleeveless jackets will be very popular this fall. Looks pretty with he touch of lace peeking out.

Marc by Marc Jacobs fall/winter2012

This is like the nerdy hipster look. Got the black frames and roll up your straight leg jeans. Instant street cred.

Marc by Marc Jacobs

Libarian look but sexified with red lipstick and a silk top, and manified with boots and loose fits.

Ralph Lauren fall/winter 2012

Obviously men's inspired. Totally grandpa look, but take away a few pieces like the vest and jacket and maybe replace it with a feminine crop jacket with lets say a bow on it, play it down is key to look more womanly.

Ralph Lauren

This men's coat would look cute with a frilly dress peaking under it and a cowl scarf with booties.

The Row fall/winter 2012

I would leave this look as is, and wear your hair down loose with waves and a few barrettes.

Lana Del Rey
Now this is what I'm talking about. Ready to wear men's inspired blouse, boxy shorts and loose curls. Just the right amount of dude and lady.

Brad Goreski (Stylist) created this little menswear tutorial. It inspired my own look below.

Clothes Encounters:
Cigarette Pants: Gap
Blazer: Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti
Blouse from The Usuals boutique
Pink Bow Kitten Heels: Jeffrey Campbell
Handbag: Kate Spade

What do you think of menswear on women? Whats your favorite look?
